Was I planning on doing this tag? Nope, not at all. I’ve seen it on A LOT off blogs over the past few weeks and have enjoyed reading them, but never actually considered doing it myself… until now. So here I am, posting my mid year freak out tag instead of the original post I had planned today (How I Make Quote Art – probably will be posted early next week). And yes I realize that it’s kind of embarrassing how late I am to this tag 🤷🏻♀️.
I saw Rain’s @bookdragonsim tag last night, and I thought that I might as well give it a go.
1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2019.
I have enjoyed about 95% of the books that I have read this year, but by far A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer has been THE BEST. It was my first 5 star book of the year, and I would love to link my review, but truth be told I was never able to write one 🙈. I tried so many times, but I couldn’t put into words how much I love this book.
2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2019.
Have I read a sequel this year? Excuse me while I check my goodreads. It would have to be Hitched: The Final Five. This is the third book in the Hitched series and omg the drama and romance in this book 🥰😍
3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to.
Descendant of the Crane by Joan He, You’d Be Mine by Erin Hahn, Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte, trust me the are a lot more books 😂.
4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.
The Burning Shadow by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Y’all I read TDS last year and Luc and Evie 😍. I NEED MORE!!!
5. Biggest disappointment.
After by Anna Todd. I was ALL for this book because I love Harry, but toxicity of the relationship between Tessa and Hardin is one that I wasn’t shipping. I know there are people who love this book, and if you’re one of them then I’m glad that you like it and value your opinion, but the first book isn’t for me. With that being said, I will eventually read book 2 when I’m board out of my mind.
6. Biggest surprise.
Thief by C.L. Stone. I went into this book expecting to hate Kayli because of how people in this community talk about her, but I mean in book one she wasn’t as bad as people made her seem.
7. Favorite new author (debut or new to you).
A new favorite author that I have from this year is G.K. DeRosa. I’ve read 5 of her books this year. She has some fun paranormal stories out!
8. Newest fictional crush.
Logan from Match Me If You Can by Tiana Smith. I mean he so sweet and gah all of the teasing 😊.
9. Newest favorite character.
Maybe Jesse from Only a Breath Apart by Katie McGarry. In this story he has so much weight on his shoulders because his grandmother had just died, leaving behind a farm the struggling to stay afloat, all while he is so close to a girl that he loves but is just out of reach. Aww the feels (and yes I cried… a lot).
10. Book that made you cry.
A Curse So Dark and Lonely, A Half Made Whole by K. Leah, Soul in Darkness by Wendy Higgins… what can I say I’m an emotional reader 🤷🏻♀️😂
11. Book that made you happy.
I don’t know. There were books with happy endings that made me happy, but I haven’t read a book that was 100% fluff yet 😭.
12. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received).
Guys I have absolutely no idea. I’ve bought and received way to many books. It might be The City of Veils by S. Usher Evans from Fae Crate and basically every reversible jacket from Fae Crate and LitJoy Crate
13.What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
All of the books I’ve bought up to this point of the year 😂. Is that to unrealistic? Probably so. If that’s the case then I have no idea because I’m a mood reader, and I have books sent to me to review 🤷🏻♀️.
14. Favorite book community member.
I would like to think that I started actively blogging this year because it’s when I switched to WP, and since then I have met SO MANY amazing book lovers that I would be here all day!
I doubt that anyone still needs to do this tag because of how late I am, but if you see this tag because of me and complete it, make sure to tag me so I can read it!
Also in the next couple of weeks, I’m going to post about my blog (and bookstagram) moving forward. I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to share my thoughts and interacting with y’all over the past 6 months, and I feel like should share with y’all my upcoming future (I know this is sounding dramatic; no I’m not getting married or anything y’all are probably thinking 😂). I’ll explain in the upcoming post 🧡💙.
Happy reading until next time,
