Lover Book Tag

Hi everyone! I saw this fun tag celebrating Taylor’s newest album Lover on Kayl’s All Booked! I believe these questions came from Upon the Pages!

I’ll be honest, I haven’t heard the full album yet 🙈, but the handful of songs that I’ve heard are wonderful.

I Forgot That You Existed – What’s a book you wish you forgot?

Oh good heavens… Paper Towns by John Green. I read this boo during the 8th grade when Green was super popular, and this book seemed to go forever, and it didn’t even have a set (or happy) ending.

Cruel Summer – What’s your favorite book set during the summer?

Mmmm, I loved The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson because it has the struggles of friendships, dogs, and Clark. (Mainly because of Clark!!!)

Lover – What’s your favorite romance trope?

Friends to lovers (the one with a good development in the relationship, not the rushed one)

The Man – Who’s your favorite feminist character?

Feyre from ACOTAR!

The Archer – Since this song discusses being imperfect, what’s an imperfect book you love?

The Selection, I know that a lot of people have feelings about it but I love it because of Maxon and America’s love story.

I Think He Knows – What character do you know very well?

Daemon Black. No more needs to be said on this one.

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince – Favorite book set in high school?

I’ll go with the Hundred Oak Series by Miranda Kenneally because it’s a companion series, so we get to follow different types of characters and how they react to high schoolish situations.

Paper Rings – What bookish OTP do you want to get married?

THERE ARE SO MANY. There have been a few marries like Katy and Daemon, America and Maxon, and Will and Tessa where it was a quick scene or the epilogue of the book, but I’d love to see a full wedding of those characters and life shortly after the wedding.

Cornelia Street – What’s a book set near or where you live?

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and How to Break a Boy by Laurie Devore (takes place in SC).

Death by a Thousand Cuts – Who’s your favorite character who’s been through a lot?

Can I say every person from a fantasy/sci-fi/dystopian book?! I think it might be Juliette from the first three books of The Shatter Me Series.

London Boy – Listen, I can’t help it. Who’s your favorite British character”

Either Noah from the Mara Dyer Series or Miles from Royals (Prince Charming) by Rachel Hawkins.

Soon You’ll Get Better ft. the Dixie Chicks – What’s a book that’s made you incredibly sad?

Clockwork Princess because of the epilogue.

False God – Since this song talks about her relationship being greater than them, name your ALL TIME favorite book?

OMG, I can’t pick one!!!

You Need to Calm Down – What’s your favorite LGBT+ book?

*Don’t come after me with pitchforks* But I haven’t specifically read an LGBT+ book; I have The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, Girls of Paper and Fire, and numerous other books but haven’t read them yet (along with the rest of my TBR). I’ve read books with LGBT+ side characters, but none that really focuses on that.

Afterglow – What’s a book you used to hate but you’re warming up to?

Honestly, I don’t know. My opinions of books don’t really change with time.

ME! – What’s your favorite uplifting book?

I don’t necessarily read uplifting books (inspirational), but I love Glitter & Sparkle by Shari L. Tapscott because it’s a nice fluffy book!

It’s Nice to Have a Friend – What bookish character do you wish was your best friend?

Will Herondale! No explanation needed!!!

Daylight – Since this song is already underrated, what’s your favorite underrated book?

An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson! This book has gotten a little bit more recognition since Sorcery of Thorns was released, but a lot of people still don’t talk about it!
