Hi everyone!!! School has been canceled today because of Hurricane Dorian although I don’t have Thursday classes at the moment because we have skills lab and my lab day is Wednesday, so in other words the cancellation doesn’t affect me. I hope everyone that is in the path of Dorian is safe and hasn’t been affected to bad. Right now it’s raining and is windy, but nothing to crazy. Oh, and my chickens are walking around in the rain like nothing is happening and has wet feathers! Why do they do this?!
This morning I let my dog outside and put her raincoat on and this happened!
Thank you Blair @ Feed the Crime for tagging me! Can I just say before I get into this tag that I’m kind of scared to do it because even though I keep up with a lot of new books for the weekly release post, I don’t have a set personal list. So… this should be fun!

Your most anticipated release of the year…
Regretting You by Colleen Hoover. I’ve never read a Colleen Hoover book because I believe she is a NA/Adult author, and I’m just starting to read outside of the YA range of books. When I first read the synopsis for this book, it sounded so dramatic and emotional!
“Morgan Grant and her sixteen-year-old daughter, Clara, would like nothing more than to be nothing alike.
Morgan is determined to prevent her daughter from making the same mistakes she did. By getting pregnant and married way too young, Morgan put her own dreams on hold. Clara doesn’t want to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Her predictable mother doesn’t have a spontaneous bone in her body.
With warring personalities and conflicting goals, Morgan and Clara find it increasingly difficult to coexist. The only person who can bring peace to the household is Chris—Morgan’s husband, Clara’s father, and the family anchor. But that peace is shattered when Chris is involved in a tragic and questionable accident. The heartbreaking and long-lasting consequences will reach far beyond just Morgan and Clara.
While struggling to rebuild everything that crashed around them, Morgan finds comfort in the last person she expects to, and Clara turns to the one boy she’s been forbidden to see. With each passing day, new secrets, resentment, and misunderstandings make mother and daughter fall further apart. So far apart, it might be impossible for them to ever fall back together.”
A book you are not anticipating…
Can I be honest? Well, that’s the main point of being a blogger, but you know what I mean. It’s The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black. I’m anticipating it a little bit because I bought one special edition box, and I’m hoping to get the OwlCrate one, but I’m not anywhere not anticipating it anywhere close to most people. I haven’t even read The Wicked King yet.
Most underhyped anticipated release…
Cupid’s Match by Lauren Palphreyman. I feel like there have been a couple of stories that deal with cupid lately, but I always find the premise of them so interesting!
“Lila Black doesn’t believe in matchmaking, let alone soul mates. So then why is she constantly being hassled by the Cupids Matchmaking Service? But this gilded, cherub-bedecked dating agency isn’t exactly what it seems . . . and it’s about to turn Lila’s entire world upside down.
It turns out that Cupids Matchmaking is the real deal. As in, it’s run by actual cupids―who don’t look at all like they do in the paintings―and they have a serious problem with Lila’s “match.” Because this guy shouldn’t be in the system. He shouldn’t have a match. And while he’s irresistibly hot, he’s also incredibly dangerous. Because Lila’s true love match is Cupid. The original bad boy of love. And he wants her.
Now Lila’s once-normal teenaged world has exploded into a mythological nightmare overrun by crime-lord sirens, wrathful cupid hit men, magic arrows that cause no end of trouble, and a mischievous, not-so-angelic love god she can’t seem to stop herself from falling for…”
A book you’ve been waiting on forever…
I’m have been waiting for The Burning Shadow by Jennifer L. Armentrout since I finished The Darkest Star because I need more of Luc and Evie!!! The world of Lux was expanded in TDS bringing in new characters and expanding Luc’s history and background!
“When Evelyn Dasher crossed paths with Luc, she was thrown headfirst into the world of the Lux—only to discover that she was already far more involved in their world than she ever suspected.
Because the Luxen aren’t the only ones with a hidden past. There’s a gap in Evie’s memory, lost months of her life and a lingering sense that something happened, something she can’t remember and nobody is willing to tell her. She needs to find out the truth about who she is—and who she was. But every answer she finds only brings up more questions.
Her search for the truth brings her ever closer to Luc, the Origin at the center of it all. He’s powerful, arrogant, inhumanly beautiful, extremely dangerous…and possibly in love with her. But even as Evie falls for him, she can’t help but wonder if his attraction is to her, or to the memory of a girl who no longer exists.
And all the while, a new threat looms: reports of a flu-like, fatal virus that the government insists is being spread by Luxen. A horrifying illness that changes whoever it touches, spreading panic across a country already at its breaking point.”
A book you’re anticipating that’s out of your comfort zone…
The Piper’s Pursuit by Melanie Dickerson; normally I don’t read historical fiction books because history isn’t my thing, but this book sounds so interesting with a couple of unlikely characters working together!
“In 1424 Hamlin, Katerina faces threats from all sides. An outbreak of rats has overtaken the town, a mysterious beast of unusual size appears to be stealing away the village’s children, and her stepfather, the mayor of Hamlin, is a dark presence inside the walls of her own home. Katerina is determined to hunt and kill the Beast of Hamlin herself before more lives are lost.
When Steffan, the handsome but brash duke’s son with a less than admirable reputation, comes to town seeking glory and reward, Katerina reluctantly decides he might be the ally she’s been looking for—the only person in town she can trust not to be under the influence of her stepfather. But there’s more to Steffan than she suspects, and she finds herself drawn to him despite her reluctance to trust any man.
Katerina and Steffan must stop the enemy from stealing every child of Hamlin. Will Steffan be able to overcome his own longstanding issues to help the beautiful and brave Katerina? Or will their interference create a worse fate for them all?”
