WWW 10/23/19

Hi everyone! I’m back with another WWW! I’m honestly surprised that I have had enough changes for me to post another WWW!

Y’all today is officially my one year blogging anniversary! I knew that is was coming soon and that it’s the 23rd, but it didn’t connect in my mind until I saw a tweet about it being 5SOS’ anniversary of SGFG.

Today was the last skills lab in fundamentals, and I spent 4+ hours doing wound care. So you can imagine how tired I was when I left the school, then I went home and worked on pharmacology for two more hours of my day. In other words, I feel like I’m about to pass out. *If you hear something while you read this, it’s probably me yawning.*

Hearts, Strings, and Other Breakable Things by Jacqueline Firkins

In this charming debut about first love and second chances, a young girl gets caught between the boy next door and a playboy. Perfect for fans of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.

Mansfield, Massachusetts is the last place seventeen-year-old Edie Price wants to spend her final summer before college. It’s the home of wealthy suburbanites and prima donnas like Edie’s cousins, who are determined to distract her from her mother’s death with cute boys and Cinderella-style makeovers. Edie has her own plans, and they don’t include a prince charming.

But as Edie dives into schoolwork and applying for college scholarships, she finds herself drawn to two Mansfield boys who start vying for her attention. First there’s Sebastian, Edie’s childhood friend and first love. He’s sweet and smart and . . . already has a girlfriend. Then there’s Henry, the local bad boy and all-around player. He’s totally off limits, even if his kisses are chemically addictive.

Both boys are trouble. Edie can’t help but get caught between them. Someone’s heart is going to break. Now she just has to make sure it isn’t hers.”

I’m about 16 pages into this book, and I just met Sebastian. Let me tell y’all I was trying to read while sitting in lecture (which I don’t recommend) and was reading and I was this close to laughing (also not good because that guy sits next to me). But, so far I really enjoy the book!

The Bookworm Crush by Lisa Roberts Brown

“Shy bookworm Amy McIntyre is about to compete for the chance to interview her favorite author, who hasn’t spoken to the press in years. The only way to win is to step out of the shadows and into the spotlight, but that level of confidence has never come easy.

The solution? A competition coach. The problem? The best person for the job is the guy she’s secretly crushing on…local surfer celebrity Toff Nichols.

He’s a player. He’s a heartthrob. He makes her forget basic things, like how to breathe. How can she feel any confidence around him?

To her surprise, Toff agrees to help. And he’s an excellent teacher. Amy feels braver―maybe even brave enough to admit her feelings for him. When their late night practices become less about coaching and more about making out, Amy’s newfound confidence wavers.

But does Toff really like her or is this just another lesson?”

I AM LOVING THIS BOOK!!! And I’m not sorry for yelling because this book is what book nerds dream about. Between the swooning over Toff, the book references, and the fake dating, it has me hanging on the each word!

The QB Bad Boy and Me by Tay Marley

Reluctant cheerleader Dallas Bryan has a problem on her hands—and his name is Drayton Lahey.

Ever since the hot star quarterback of the high school football team hit her car with his motorcycle, he has the annoying ability to get under her skin, making Dallas think about Drayton way more than she should . . . in all the ways that she shouldn’t.

But Dallas has one goal—to pursue her dance-school dreams in in California—and no one, not even a hard-bodied, green-eyed football god, will stop her. As the tension between Drayton and Dallas grows thicker, the lines are getting blurred, and all she wants is to come undone under his touch.

But this thing between Dallas and Drayton could cost her her dreams . . . if he doesn’t break her heart first.”

So, I still don’t know how I feel about this book. I ended up liking Drayton more than I did in the beginning, but there are some things that I just didn’t like.

Elizabeth and the Clan of Dragons by Ava Mason

Elizabeth and the Clan of Dragons: a Paranormal Reverse Harem (Fated Alpha Book 1) by [Mason, Ava]

A female Wolf in danger. Four Possessive Dragons determined to protect her. A paranormal romance.

Elizabeth is certain she’s not meant to rule the Southeastern White Tooth Pack. Since birth, she’s been told she was the wolf pack’s fated leader. She is, after all, the first-born of the pack Alpha. But how can she lead them if she’s never shifted? She doubts herself, but her fate is tied to the moon and Elizabeth is honor-bound to fulfill her destiny. To help Elizabeth, her mother presents her with a secret diamond necklace, magical jewels that have adorned the neck of every female in her family for hundreds of years.

But evil forces lurk in the shadows.

Not every wolf shifter in the pack wants Elizabeth to take power. When the Wolf Council sanctions Elizabeth as the official Fated Alpha, enemies attack her family, killing her parents. When they discover that Elizabeth survived, she must flee for her life. With nowhere to go, help comes in the form of four sexy and powerful Dragon shifters.

The fierce warriors offer her their protection in their secluded mountain home.

As Elizabeth mends, it’s clear the four Dragon shifters crave more from her. All four men desire her. Each wants to claim her body and heart and soul.

As her enemies close in, can the men keep Elizabeth safe by their side and help her reclaim her place as leader of her pack?”

I listened to this book on hoopla because it was only four hours, and I was like that’s doable. Y’all, i feel like it was a waste of my time because there was only six chapters in it, and I felt like the story could have been written better.
