Hi everyone! Hope y’all are doing great since tomorrow is Friday eve! Last week I combined my Top Ten Tuesday post and WWW since I had something going on Tuesday wasn’t able to post, well this week was similar since I posted yesterday’s releases and a review of Royally Hitched and didn’t have time!
The prompt for this week TTT is Love Freebie, which opens a lot of doors, and I decided to talk about some of my book boyfriends! A while back I had talked about some of the qualities I look for in a book boyfriend and thought I would see if I could actually make a list of boyfriends!
TTT is a weekly meme hosted by thatartsyreadergirl
WWW is another weekly meme host by Taking on the World of Words where you answer the following questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you want to read next?
Do you know how difficult it is to make a list of character hat you love while knowing you can make a list long enough… especially when there are books with a bunch of swoon worthy guys like in some RH books?
This list will be the tip of the iceberg and isn’t near long enough to contain all of my loves!
Let’s just go ahead and hit the ground running, shall we? I think Will might be my favorite male Shadowhunter (sorry Jace, although I know now where your hatred for ducks come from)! From the first time Tessa hit him with a vase, I loved him. Will is always doing something wild that will keep you on your toes, and he has a love for literature. My heart is full.
“It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them.”
I love Daemon! From the first moment he opened the door bare chested to every time he made some smart remark that deserved him to be whacked, he continued to steal me heart. There’s something about the alien’s personality and fierce love that makes him as adorable as a cute little hedgehog!
“Me and Katy look adorkable in extraterrestrial
highway shirts. You would just look stupid. You can thank me later.”
Toff from The Bookworm Crush
He is basically the perfect contemporary book boyfriend there is because he falls in love with a book blogging (and bookstagramming) book nerd, and y’all he is SUPER swoon worthy from his surfer hair and good looks to his comebacks that stands up to a literary burn! Plus he’s willing to read a romance book because of our book nerd. Sounds like a keeper to me.
Slate from As She Fades
Slate is… well he also stole my heart (kind of duh because he’s on the list), but I can’t resist a good ol country boy. Despite his history for being a play, he was always a gentleman; plus, he is considerate and cares for his dying uncle and a girl he barely knows. I even begin to tell y’all how hard I fell.
How can I not love Warner? Well I had a love hate relationship with him in Shatter Me but around the his time in Unravel Me where he was being held ‘captive’ (you know around chapter 62), is when he started to grow on me and tbh I never looked back. The blonde headed boy who rules sector 45 has my heart.
“And if you insist on continuing to make assumptions about my character, I’ll advise you only this: assume you will always be wrong.”
Clay from You’d Be Mine
I’m not one for country music unless it’s Hunter Hayes, but there’s something about Clay’s broken life filled with music and alcohol that made me fall for him despite his attitude to keep his bad boy act up. (or made it’s the way he’s able to wear blue jeans).
“What comes to mind when you think of Clay Coolidge?”
“Sex appeal, boozehound, makes love to the mic, rock star, stadium filler.”
Clark from The Unexpected, Everything
All I need to saw is nerd with abs. Boom. Mic drop. How can you go wrong with a guy who is a super famous fantasy author who loves dogs, wears glasses, and has abs??? I would be perfectly happy if I could find a Clark in real life.
“You have to take your chances. Go and attempt and see what happens. And even if you fail—especially if you
fail—come back with your experience and your hard-won knowledge and a story you can tell. And then later you can say, without regret or hesitation . . . ‘Once, I dared to dare greatly.”
The Third Sun by Victoria J. Prince
“The sun is dying, the windows to Earth are closing. Time is running out.
After the death of her sister, eighteen-year-old Fia Aldridge knows one thing for certain: she doesn’t belong anywhere. But then she tumbles into the parallel world of Ohinyan—a world where angels and witches walk amongst mankind.
An ancient darkness is taking advantage of the dying sun, and Ohinyan needs Fia’s help. She soon learns that her arrival is not entirely by accident and that Alexander, leader of angels, is not the guardian she thought he was.
Torn between their feelings and their duties, together they must find a way to return Fia to London before the darkness consumes her and she is trapped in Ohinyan forever.
A richly woven tale drawing on ancient myths and legends. Fans of elemental magic, witches, shapeshifters and portal fantasy will devour the Third Sun: Daughter of the Phoenix Book One.“
Duty Bound by Christina Bauer
“As the High Prince of the demon-fighting thrax, Lincoln knows he must marry for political gain. Not that he minds. For all of his eighteen years, Lincoln’s been bound to his duty. Then the prince glimpses Myla, a part-demon girl, and everything changes. What happens when a woman you’ve never met upends your life completely? Lincoln’s about to find out.”
Below by Alexandra Warwick
“In the heart of the frigid North, there lives a demon known as the Face Stealer. Eyes, nose, mouth–nothing and no one is safe. Once he returns to his lair, or wherever it is he dwells, no one ever sees those faces again.
When tragedy strikes, Apaay embarks on a perilous journey to find her sister’s face–yet becomes trapped in a labyrinth ruled by a sinister girl named Yuki. The girl offers Apaay a deal: find her sister’s face hidden within the labyrinth, and she will be set free. But the labyrinth, and those who inhabit it, is not as it seems. Especially Numiak: darkly beautiful, powerful, whose motives are not yet clear.
With time slipping, Apaay is determined to escape the deadly labyrinth with her sister’s face in hand. But in Yuki’s harsh world, Apaay will need all her strength to survive.
Yuki only plays the games she wins.”
Royally Hitched by G.K. DeRosa
“A fight to the death…
Or at least that’s what it feels like when my twin sister and I are pitted against a dozen ruthless Fae females in a competition to marry the Spring Court prince. On live television.
If we can survive eight weeks on Royally Hitched, we’ll earn our freedom and a one-way ticket home to the human world.
All we have to do is play nice with the mean girls and stuck up ice prince. Oh, did I mention we shouldn’t even be here since we’re not actually Fae? Well, no one knows that—yet.
As girls are eliminated and the competition heats up, things take a lethal turn. Someone wants the prince dead, and we all become targets. When he’s almost killed, unexpected feelings come over me. Panic. Pain. Sadness. The idea of losing him actually hurts.
And what’s worse… my sister feels the same way. “
Something Unusual by Kit Winters
“Cilla D’Ponte attracts trouble. Mathias Smith defines it. Considered the black sheep of her family, Cilla left her coven behind in favor of an entirely different world: college. However, there’s more in the mortal realm than she suspected, and when a stranger uses dark magic to steal her friends, she’ll face anything to get them back. Being a blood-sucking parasite himself, Mathias knows those “friends” aren’t good for her; what he doesn’t know is why he cares. From the second he witnessed her exploding cinnamon buns, Cilla’s mystery had wrapped itself around his mind. No matter how he tries, he can’t seem to untangle her from his thoughts. Whether their meeting is destiny or fate has yet to be determined. All we know is the start of something big often comes in little packages…”
Happy reading until next time,
