Stay at Home Book Tag and 10 Bookish Questions Tag

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! I survived my first day “back to school”. So, there’s small groups of students going in to do a skill thing where we had to practice a bunch of skills from a couple of semesters ago and also did a bunch of med calc problems… all in two hours. But, I made it through and was told by two instructors that I did good! So that’s that.

Anyway, I’m still working on catching up on past tags and awards from the past couple of months!

Stay at Home Book Tag

I was tagged by a handful of people have tagged me to do this particular tag (although I was planning on doing it anyway, so I had extra motivation to do it once someone actually tagged me to do it!

Taggers:

1. Laying in bed- a book you read in one day

I haven’t had much time in the past couple of months that allowed me to really have a day to just read, but I recently finished Calluna by Jewels Arthur in a day (but it was only a couple of hundred pages). But a couple of weeks I read To Carve a Fae Heart by Tessonja Odette in a day that was about 350 pages.

2. Snacking – a book that is a ‘guilty pleasure’ read

I’d have to say The Royal Series by Erin Watt. This book really seems to be a hit or miss in the book community (more so than the whole ACOTAR/ToG series). I personally really enjoyed it when I read it back in high school even though it’s a NA book being sold as a YA without any real warning.

3. Netflix – a series that you want to start

Mmm. I’m not sure if there’s any particular series that I want to read ASAP, but I eventually want to start Stalking Jack the Ripper, Six of Crows, and a handful of others.

4. Deep clean – a book that has been on your TBR for ages

Dreamland by Sarah Dessen. This is the only book out of Sarah’s old books I haven’t read. I had tried to read it a few years ago and found out that the MC is in an abusive relationship and is something I’m not currently interested in reading.

5. Animal Crossing – a book you recently bought because of the hype

I bought Serpent and Dove by Shelby Mahurin back in April because I’m still constantly seeing it all over the bookverse.

6. Productivity – a book you learned from or had an impact on you

I’d like to say that each book I’ve read has impacted me in some ways from learning about things I’d like in relationships to how I should/shouldn’t be treated to broadening my understanding of people. Books has allowed me to travel to different places and learn about different cultures and lifestyles different from the one I practice.

7. Facetime – a book you were gifted

Does receiving books to review count? I recently got a physical copy of a book by and author to review which is sweet because the author could have easily sent me an electronic copy of the book or easily decided that it would be to much of a hassle since I told her that it would be a little while before I could get to reading the books.

8. Self-care – what is one thing you have done recently to look after yourself

I’ve been taking about 20 or 30 minutes a day to spend with my chickens outside (when it’s cool outside of course). With having so much of my class stuff online, it’s good to go outside for about a half hour holding my chickens and get some fresh air.

BONUS – An upcoming release you are looking forward to

Honestly, I have no idea! I haven’t been keeping up with upcoming releases outside of the time I spend putting together the monthly release pages, and I never write down the name of the titles that interest me.

10 Bookish Questions Book Tag

I was tagged by Jenny @ Jenny’s Book Reviews to do this tag, and I’m so excited to do it!

1. How many books do you currently own?

I’m going to say about 800 books because I’m thinking that I have about 350 books on my bookcases then the last count was 200 unread books about a year ago, but I know that I’ve bought a lot of books since then and get books through book boxes. Plus the 800 isn’t including the books that I have outside of my room of the few duplicates I have.

2. How many books are you currently reading?

3 I think! I’m not reading a lot because of school but I’m in a couple of blog tours coming up in a couple of days and have other books to review.

I’m currently reading:

  • Royal Decoy by Heather Frost
  • The Kinder Poison by Natalie Mae
  • Knightmare Arcanist by Shami Stovall

3. Choose a couple books you read but didn’t enjoy?

Only a couple? Okay…

  • The Cruel Prince
  • The Raven Boys
  • Kill the Boyband

4. A cover buy?

Nothing really comes to mind at the moment. I haven’t bought many books in the last couple of months, and I’m not a bought because of the cover type of person to begin with!

5. A book you own but hate the cover of?

I’m going to have to take a pass because I can’t think of any of the books I own having a cover I dislike. But in general, I don’t like the newest cover for ACOTAR, I think it’s to much and a way to try and appeal to the adult section of readers.

6. A book you haven’t read in years?

Percy Jackson, Twilight, and honestly 95% of my library because I don’t reread a lot of books.

7. A book you will always recommend?

I feel like I recommend Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson a lot, so I’m going to go with that!

8. All time favorite book series?

The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout! I was one of the first paranormal romance books I read and loved it!

9. Where do you read?

Anywhere! I read in my room, the living room, outside, in the car, wherever I can!

10. What are the last two books you gave a 5 star rating? And why?

To Carve a Fae Heart and The Raven and the Dove! I loved both of those books because of the Fae and the wings in the books (respectively). I’m more of a contemporary person, so when I find a fantasy book that I fall hard!

I’m tagging who ever would like to do these tags!

Happy reading until next time,
