Books that Make Me Smile: TTT

Hi everyone! On to another Top Ten Tuesday! I’m excited for this week’s prompt because it is Books That Make Me Smile which will hopefully make people feel good while they read each other’s posts!

TTT is a weekly meme hosted by thatartsyreadergirl.

Other recent posts:

Match Me If You Can by Tiana Smith

Look, I’ll be honest, Logan stole the whole story and ran with it because I was in love with him from the very beginning. He’s the type of guy that everyone was friends with or somehow was able to fit in any social group that he’s around. Logan is able to bring a lightness to any situation even when he has problems of his own.

“Let me guess,” Logan said. “You got detention for”- he pursed his lips as if he were deep in thought- “dog-earing a page in a library book.”

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

This is one of those bitter sweet smiles because I hated to loss Will, but we got to see a short snippet of his life with Tessa and their children. Sure it hurt me so much that I was crying like I lost my best friend, but there was so much love surrounding Will as he was taking his last breaths that you couldn’t help but be grateful for the long life that he had considering the trouble he lived for and fought.

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

– Dr. Seuss

The Bookworm Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts

This is always my go to book whenever someone is looking for a sweet book because it’s basically going to make you smile and giggle the whole way through! Amy is your typical quite bookworm who loves from a far and only having fictional boyfriends until Toff agrees to play her boyfriend/coach to help her win a bookish competition.

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Sure Daemon is a grade A jerk and pain in the butt most of this book, but it brings back so many memories of falling in love with books and having my first book boyfriend from a YA book! Plus, Daemon and Katy’s snark is enough to make you laugh and roll your eyes at the same time.

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

This is another fun book that has a memory attached to it, but the opening part of this book hooks me every time into wanting to read it!

“I smack into him as if shoved from behind. He doesn’t budge, not an inch. Just holds my shoulders and waits. Maybe he’s waiting for me to find my balance. Maybe he’s waiting for me to gather my pride. I hope he’s got all day.”

You’d have to read the first couple of pages to get the full effect!

-Look, I’m 5 books into the list and struggling. There are plenty of funny lines and stuff from books but it wouldn’t really make sense if you haven’t read the books. Then there funny characters, but my mind has gone blank…-

When Summer Ends by Jessica Pennington

This quote makes me smile every time because it’s something I’d end up doing by mistake!

“He walks past me and bends down to get the next section of the tent. I reach out to smack his back as he walks by, but he moves and I hit his butt.”

The Heartbreakers by Ali Novak

This is the first book that I read where the MC ends up dating a musician, and I fell in love with it because it’s the closet to me dating some of the musical artists I’ve loved for so long.

Only a Breath Apart by Katie McGarry

This book makes me smile because these characters have grown through some much prior to the start of the book and to see them reconnect after years of not speaking to work for a common goal is so heart warming. It will make you do more than smile (I was crying by the end of the prologue)!

What are some books that make you smile? Let me know below!

Happy reading until next time,

  1. Obsidian is a great book (although I agree with you about Daemon being a jerk). I always ugly cry during Clockwork Princess, because their love was such a beautiful story (I also cry in the short story in Ghosts of the Shadow Market where they talk about how she has to go on without him).

  2. I haven’t actually read any of these 😱 They all sound amazing though and I’ve just added a bunch of them to my TBR list. In particular, Obsedian sounds excellent. Thanks for the recommendations.
