Howl Book Tag

Hi everyone! I hope y’all are doing well! It has been a couple of days since I really posted anything other than the weekly release post (other most recent post is July Bookish Box unboxing). I’ve been in clinical essentially Monday in the afternoon and Tuesday through Thursday from 6:30 in the morning to 5 in the evening, so I haven’t had any free time in between. Today was my last day for the semester, and I wanted to post something before I went to bed!

IN THREE, ONE, TWO, THREE…LET’S PLAY HOWL // or the HOWL Book Tag is a book tag created by  Tova @ Petyr Baeish Books in honor of Rachel Lynn Solomon’s recent release of Today Tonight Tomorrow which was released on July 28th!

If you like:

  • Diverse MCs (Jewish/Hispanic Heritage)
  • Red Heads with lots of Freckles (because let’s be honest, they don’t get enough love)
  • End of High School
  • 24 Hour Settings
  • Enemies to Lovers
  • Late Night Adventures

Then Today Tonight Tomorrow is the book for you!

Rowan: Name a book that features your favourite romance trope

Unpopular opinion, I like books with romance. I’m not talking hot and heavy on the first page, but I love a good book that has a strong romantic plot to it!

I love The Bookworm Crush by Lisa Roberts Brown because it’s a booknerd’s dream of [fake] dating your crush and getting to know that person.

I also love On the Fence by Kasie West because of the friends to lover situation because to me, there’s something so beautiful in seeing relationships grow from this friendship into a romantic one and seeing the transition happen.

Neil: Name a fictional character, who turns out to be a lot more than you initially thought

I feel like I go into a lot of books not really underestimating characters but just not really knowing what to expect. So, the majority of the characters have so many things to explore and unravel throughout the story.

I would also like to say that most of the brooding bad boy types fit this question as well!

Cinerama: Name a book that transports you back in time

Easily Percy Jackson and Twilight! I read these books during middle school, and I can still see the classrooms whenever I think about these books!

The Fremont Troll: Name a fictional character who is always there for you, no matter what. In other words, what fictional character is the center of your universe

Will Herondale, no doubt about it! I’d like in the shadowhunter world and face demons if it means that Will is right there next to me!

Pikes Place Market: Name a book from your past that is kind of basic (popular), but will always remain special

Twilight… I mean how much more basic can you get in the YA world in the late 2000s? I loved Twilight while I read it and the movies came out; I even enjoyed the re-imagined story (dare I say more than the original one), but I think that era of my life is very much in the past (and watch I’ll read Midnight Sun within the next two months).

Starbucks (with your name wildly misspelled): Name a book that features a character who has the same name as you, (especially if the name is spelled slightly differently)

I was about to say that I have no idea, but then I remembered that the MC’s name in Glitter & Sparkle Shari L. Tpascott is Lauren! I feel like in general, Lauren is a rather common name, so I’m surprised that there aren’t more books with Lauren as the name of the female MC.

The Seattle Public Library: Name a book, that holds a special connection in relation to the library for you

I don’t know! I feel like considering how books are books, the library is a very unappreciated setting that isn’t seen as much as you’d think. There have been some contemporary and even fantasy books where the character might be in the library for a couple of pages and that’s it.

Also, during the small rant, I remembered Sorcery of Thorns!

Delilah Park & Nora Roberts: Name an author you’d love to meet and or an author you’d love to meet!

I’d love to meet Wendy Higgins! I’m in her facebook group, and she seems like one of the sweetest people out there!

The Seattle Skyline: A book that features a location that has a personal connection for you

I’m at a loss for anything that really stands out, so I’m going to have to say Beautiful Creatures just because it takes place in South Carolina!

HOWL: Name a book that features a game that kept you on the edge of your seat the entire time

The Hunger Games! This was back when dystopian was still a new thing to me, and there were so many new elements in the series that I hadn’t read making it so much fun to read!

A huge thanks to Tova for creating this tag in honor of Rachel’s book and for tagging me!

Happy reading until next time,
