Hi everyone! I’m trying to slowly ease my way back into blogging now that I has ~a little~ bit of time. I’d say over the last year, I haven’t really had any motivation to do much blogging other than review books and unboxings because for me blogging requires thought and creativity that needs time to develop unlike bookstagram or booktok where I can spend 5 minutes putting together something and posting it.
And that’s what I love about blogging is the ability to sit down and write as little or as much as you want, and with nursing school that wasn’t really something I was able to do because it was always go, go, go.
I’m going to do my best and get through all of the tags that I’ve been asked to do at some point, but bare with me because I’m still not 100% in the blogging frame of mind.

Why did you start blogging? & Why have you kept blogging?
I started blogging back in October of 2018 when I was in my first semester in college out of high school. I was new to the whole online book community since I had only had my twitter account for like two or three months at that point and remember seeing all of these people talking about books on blogs and I was like “blogging isn’t dead?” because let’s be honest when you think of blogging you think of like the 2000s not like current day.
So I decided to start a blog through Wix (which was awful) because I was trying to find my blogging voice and grow my blog, and despite doing EVERYTHING possible my blog was not growing at all, and I mean absolutely no one was looking at my posts.
Come January of 2019, I was still putting out posts on Wix despite no one looking at it, and I was at the point where it felt like a dead end, so I decided to move to wordpress for a little while to see if that would make a difference, and it not, I would close the whole blog.
Since then, my blog has flourished really well and I have been able to share my love for books, music, and my pets while being able to talk about my life and my journey in nursing school.
As for why I keep blogging, well… because it provides me a place to really talk unlike my bookstagram where it feels like everyone just wants to see the “perfect” side of the book nerd. On my blog, I feel like this is where I can talk about the good and the bad in my life, books, and just be myself.
Despite my other platforms having a larger following that my blog, I always consider my blog to be my main platform because I truly feel like this is the safest place for me to talk about books freely without people criticizing me about my opinions of a book.
What is your favorite type of blog post to write?
Honestly I enjoy writing most anything because each type of post whether it’s a review, tag, unboxing, or whatever requires something a little different, and truth be told, if it’s not something I enjoy talking about, it’s not going to be written.
What are your top three favorite blog posts you wrote?
- Why there should be more adoption/foster care MCs in books
- Raising my chickens
- Bookstagram Engagement Group Drama
What are some of your favorite things to do to relax?
Honestly , my definition of relaxing is either listening to music or being outside with my chickens.
As much as I love reading, I’m just burnt-out from reading at the moment because I’m just trying to get through some of my review books, and it’s a job if we’re being honest.
What are three of your favorite things?
in no particular order of course…
- my family and friends
What are your proudest blogging moments?
It would have to be the first time someone had asked me to read a book for an author an review it on my blog!
What are your hobbies outside of blogging?
I’m a person of many talents. I love gardening, cooking, crocheting, playing video games, painting, reading, driving, being with my pets, and a bunch of other things.
Describe your personality in three words.
What are your top three pet peeves?
- loud chewing
- slow walkers and drivers
- being late
What’s something your followers don’t know about you?
is there really anything? I’ve been at this for a couple of years now so I feel like I’m pretty much an open book!

Never have I ever… read a later book in a series – before reading the first book.
Well I have and haven’t.
I haven’t read a series out of order when the series is built on each other and needs to be read chronologically.
But, I’ve read a couple of companion series out of order because I wasn’t aware at the time there where other books that had some overlapping details or little Easter eggs for other books in the series.
Never have I ever… burned a book.
I can honestly say no!
Never have I ever… read a book I knew I would hate.
Never have I ever… written a fanfiction about my favourite books
No. I don’t have time to read fanfic and would rather spend my time doing something else. I don’t find myself to be a writer in the sense of telling stories.
Never have I ever… loved a book when I was young, yet hated it when I got older.
I’m going to say I have just because I know that some of the books I read when I was younger, I probably wouldn’t enjoy now.
Never have I ever… dressed up as one of my favourite literary characters.
Never have I ever… hated a book by an author I love.
Yes. That’s the thing about “favorite” authors it that you have such high expectations for all of their work and when something doesn’t live up to that expectation the disappointment sets in.
Never have I ever… gone into a bookstore to buy one book and come out with many more.
Yes, but I’m a lot better about not buying a whole stack because I shop online a lot more.
Never have I ever… read the ending of a book before reading the beginning.
Yes, especially in series where I’m struggling to finish it.
Never have I ever… read a book without the dust cover.
Yes, but only when the dust jacket is to loose on the book and keeps slipping when I’m holding the book.
Never have I ever… skim-read nearly half the book.
Never have I ever… pretended to have read a book that I haven’t.
No. I haven’t gotten to that point.
Never have I ever… seen the movie before reading the book.
Never have I ever… had a book boyfriend.
I have many, and I don’t regret it!
Never have I ever… read a history book or anthropology book for fun.
Never have I ever… bought multiple books in a series without having started it.
Yes, there are some on my shelves right now!
Never have I ever… picked up a book based on the cover alone.
Never have I ever… kept reading a series even if I didn’t love the first book.
I used to but not anymore. Life is to short to read stuff you don’t enjoy.
Never have I ever… kept buying books even though my bookshelves are full of unread books.
May I introduce you to my tbr pile?
Never have I ever… bought/read a book because of a booktuber/book blogger.
Yes I have!
Never have I ever… given a book as a shower, birthday, Christmas, graduation, or wedding gift.
Yes but not all the time!
Never have I ever… thrown away or donated a book you really wanted to keep?
No, I don’t want to sound materialistic but if I want it I’ll keep it
Never have I ever… written in a book.
I don’t think so
Never have I ever… Given away/Sold a book I hadn’t actually read.
No, I’m a book hoarder!
Never have I ever… Dogeared books!
Yes, I recently started doing this again!
Never have I ever… liked a side character better than the MC.
Never have I ever… forgot I read a book.
I’m not tagging anyone specific, but if you’d like to do either of these tags, please tag me in the post so I can read it!
Happy reading until next time,
