The Sunshine Blogger Award Parts X, XI, and XII

Hi everyone! So I have finally sat down after months of just ugh from school and life to work of catching up on some blogger awards and tags! And when I say catch up, I’m talking about from maybe six months ago. They have been piling up in my pending section and I just didn’t have the heart to do any of them at the time! Because, there are quite a few of them, I’m going to be piling all of the same awards together instead of doing two or three different posts in one.

Also, I’d like to thank all of y’all for thinking about me with these awards because it really was sweet to see a message pop up on my screen when everything was (and still is) stressful! I’m sorry that I didn’t do these earlier!

What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are creative, positive and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community.

How does it work?

  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

What is your favourite bookish trope?

Ok, so I have a couple of them that comes to mind (mostly dealing with romance).

  • The bad boy falls for the quiet girl (let me imagine and live vicariously through books ok)
  • Friends to lovers
  • Falling for older brothers best friend (oh the drama)

What is your favourite song / album / playlist right now?

As of right now, it’s between Monster by Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber or Why Don’t We’s newest stuff.

What has been your favourite read of 2020 so far?

See how far behind I am?

My favorite books from 2020 can be found here.

So far, my favorite book from 2021 would be The Kiss Thief by LJ Shen!

If you could live for a day in the world of any book what book would you choose?

I’d have to say Velaris from ACOTAR.

What are your feelings on loaning books to friends and family?

Mmm… I don’t really want to do it, but I will if I must.

How do you feel about writing in books, or purposefully breaking book spines, or dog-earring pages?

I’ll be honest, dog earring book pages really don’t bother me. I mean, don’t do it to my books that I lend to you, but breaking the spine of a book… *full body shiver* that’s like disrespectful on so many levels.

Which do you find easier to write, a book review for a five star rated book or one for a one star rated book?

I think one (or in my case two) star reviews are easier to write because it’s easier for me to talk about the things that I didn’t like instead of trying to put into words how much I love a book. When it comes to writing a 4+ star review, it’s like everything I wanted to talk about just flies out of my head!

What is the post you are most proud of on your blog? Share a link to it.

I’m not sure, I’ve been blogging for a little over two years now so it’s hard to narrow it down to just one! A couple that I love are:

If someone was starring in the film of your life, who would you cast as you?

Lana Condor probably since she could pass for me and is roughly around my age!

Novelty socks or novelty t-shirts?

Shirts for sure! Nobody would see my socks, so there no point in me having special socks.

What are you currently reading? What are your thoughts so far?

Right now, I’m reading The Patriot by Jennifer Millikan! I’m only 45ish pages in it so it’s hard for me to really say, but I think that based off of what I read so far, it has potential!

What’s a genre you’d like to read more of?

I’d love to get back into reading fantasy books! I find that I need more time to dread fantasy books since I either binge read it or take a while to get through the book!

Have you started thinking about your 2021 reading goals yet or is it way too soon?

Every year, I set my reading goal to 50 books which is a little over a week to finish a book, but I don’t make any other specific yearly reading goals.

What’s a book that brings you comfort to read/think about?

Definitely Percy Jackson!

What’s your ideal reading conditions? Location, drinks, snacks etc

I like to read either on the couch or on my bed, as for drinks either coffee or tea, and I don’t typically eat or snack while reading.

What’s a book series you need to start?

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

What’s the most recent book you rated 5 stars?

I have no idea. It’s been a minute since I’ve read a book that I gave a whole five stars. The last couple of books were 4.5 stars.

Any upcoming releases you’re excited for?

I’m just going to refer you to this post since I still have a good many questions to get through!

What’s your favourite thing about autumn?

The cool weather that allows for me to wear boots and cardigans!

Do you pay attention to any book awards? Which ones?

Not really, I know that Goodreads has their thing and EpicReads has the Shimmy Awards but other than that, I can’t think of any.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would buy/do with your winnings?

Depending on how big the winnings are, I’d either find a banker who’d help me manage the money or buy some books.

Will you be setting New Year’s Resolutions for 2021? If you are, what might you include?

I don’t have any big ones other than trying to manage my time to prevent that end of the world feeling when I look at a calendar.

What do you most look forward to about Christmas?

*time off from school*

I look forward to seeing my family.

Do you have any goals for your blog in the new year?

Quality over quantity. Towards the end of last year, I just didn’t feel like blogging so I’d either not post or do something that was simple. So, I’d like to try and get back to making posts that reflect me!

What is a decision you made this year that you’re really glad you did?

*whispers* I’m not really sure.

What was your favourite book and/or movie/TV show that you read/watched in 2020?

I really enjoyed watching the Masked Singer on TV, as for movies I honestly liked The Shinning. I’m not one for horror or suspense, but this year for Halloween, my family and I wanted some and The Shinning was the most interesting out of the ones that they made me endure.

If you could gift everyone in the world one item for Christmas, what would you have everyone receive? (As in, every person in the world gets this same item).

I think it would be peace. Do you know how many things that would help solve! Or all of the people who are holding on the unnecessary emotions that has been weighing them down for so long?

Be proud! Share with us an achievement you made this year, no matter how big or small!

I hatched some baby chicks! I think out of every that happened in 2020, those were the moments that will always bring some light in that crazy year!

If you could travel anywhere in the world in 2021 (money being no object), where would you go and what would you do?

I’d either go to the beach and bake under the sun (with sunblock of course) or go up to the mountains and read on the back porch with the view of trees and the water going down the river.

Who are three of your favourite bloggers you discovered in 2020?

*throws my arm over my eyes*

I’m not sure; I wasn’t fully into blogging for most of the year, so it’s hard to say.

Is there a niche you’d like to expand your blog to? (Either realistically or in an ideal world.)

Not really, I’m pretty satisfied with my blog right now!

What would your top tips be to someone who was about to start a blog?

I think that you should have fun if you’re looking to do it as a hobby. You shouldn’t worry about the numbers because in the end, this is something that should bring you joy. It’s better to have a handful of blogging friends than a thousand subscribers who never talk to you!

My Questions:

  1. You’re stranded on a deserted inland. Which 3 book characters would you want to be with you to get you back?
  2. Do you listen to music while you read?
  3. What’s an unpopular book that you love?
  4. Who is your favorite bookish couple?
  5. Would you rather listen to an audiobook or read an ebook?
  6. What’s one of your unpopular bookish opinions?
  7. Roughly how many books do you own and haven’t read?
  8. What’s a book that you always recommend?
  9. Do you have designated time to read each day?
  10. Do you have an organization system for you books?
  11. What has been a book that you’ve been wanting to read forever?
