Are You Hungry Yet Book Tag

Hi everyone! Happy early Thanksgiving since IDK if I’ll be posting tomorrow! Today I thought it would be fun to do a bunch of food related tags since I haven’t seen any Thanksgiving Book Tags! I didn’t create any tags but with all of these food questions I thought it would be appropriate to title it ‘Are You Hungry Yet’!

This post contains the following tags:

  • The Book Cake Tag
  • The Waffle Book Tag
  • The Cake Flavored Book Tag
  • The Pancake Book Tag

The Book Cake Tag

I saw this post on Megabunny‘s blog a few days ago and thought it would be fitting to put this one first since the ingredients of cakes are similar to pancakes and waffles!

FLOUR: A BOOK THAT WAS SLOW TO START OFF BUT PICKED UP AS IT WENT ALONG.

Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim. Although I love this book with all of my heart, the beginning of it felt so slow to me.

BUTTER: A BOOK THAT HAS A REALLY “RICH” AND GREAT PLOT.

Let’s go with ACOTAR and since it was a book series that got me back to reading fantasy!

EGGS: A BOOK THAT YOU THOUGHT WAS GOING TO BE BAD, BUT TURNED OUT QUITE ENJOYABLE.

Maybe this Time by Kasie West. I’ll be honest the last few books by here I didn’t really enjoy, so I was kind of skeptical going into this one, but I actually really enjoyed it!

SUGAR: A SUGARY/SWEET BOOK.

I love When Summer Ends by Jessica Pennington! This book is so sweet and covers things like trying to pay for college and dealing with small town issues!

ICING: A BOOK THAT COVERED EVERY SINGLE ELEMENT THAT YOU ENJOY OF A BOOK.

The Bookworm Crush because it has booknerd, fake dating, sarcastic characters, and character growth.

SPRINKLES: A BOOK SERIES THAT YOU TURN TO WHEN YOU’RE FEELING DOWN.

The Ghost Bird Series C. L. Stone. I’ve been reading this series for about three years, and I’m currently working on my seconds full reread. I love this series because the relationship dynamic is so different!

CHERRY ON TOP: YOUR FAVORITE BOOK THIS YEAR SO FAR

A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer!

The Waffle Book Tag

I saw this really cool tag on Caitlin’s blog @ Caitlin Althea a while back and more recently on Megabunny and Emma’s blogs, and I thought it would be fun to complete! All of these wonderful graphics were created by Kat the creator.

Rules

  • Link back to the original creator, Kat @ Novels & Waffles (That’s me, btw).
  • Feel free to use any of the waffle graphics in this post, just make sure to credit me (pretty pretty please with lots of maple syrup on top).
  • Tag as many people as you want (or don’t want) to.
waffle book tag belgian waffles

Soooo, I don’t really read “classics” for fun; I’ve read Great Expectations, Of Mice and Men, The Count of Monte Cristo for school, but I loved The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton and enjoyed Lord of the Flies by William Golding (which aren’t really classics, but I’m grasping at straws).

waffle book tag whole wheat waffles

The Bookworm Crush by Lisa Roberts Brown! This book was one big pile of fluffy goodness contained between the pages of a book!

waffle book tag eggo waffles

The Percy Jackson Series! There are so many memories from when I was reading the original series, and then more memories from the other series that Percy and the OG cast are in that covers a good part of my middle school years.

waffle book tag chocolate waffles

Are there such thing as a sugary sweet character? I feel like even the sweetest characters have a good bit of sass in them!

waffle book tag blueberry waffles

First Love by James Patterson and Emily Raymond! This book is a sweet book that breaks my heart each time I read it.

waffle book tag waffle cone

Damsel by Elana K. Arnold. This book had me intrigued by the whole fairy tale retelling with a twist, but let’s just say that it’s really different… this story has a more Grimm’s fairy tale vibe rather Disney fairy tale because it has an HEA that isn’t like most fair tales.

waffle book tag maple syrup

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. Y’all I struggled to finish this book. I found most of it interesting, but I think the writing style of the author made it difficult to read.

waffle book tag waffle iron

I can’t pick one! I love everything from bookmarks to enamel pins to candles! I think I have a slight problem.

Cake Flavored Book Tag!

I originally say this tag on The Elven Warrior’s Blog!

CHOCOLATE: A dark book that you absolutely loved

Gah! I don’t know! I tend to stay away from dark and heavy books!

VANILLA: A light read

I’m going to go ahead and say most of Kasie West’s books!

RED VELVET: A book that gave you mixed emotions

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

STRAWBERRY: A sweet book

I’m going to ave to go back to one of my go to answers and say Glitter and Sparkle by Shari L. Tapscott.

CHEESECAKE: A book that you would recommend to anyone

It depends. Contemporary wise it’ll either be The Bookworm Crush by Lisa Roberts Brown or Save the Date by Morgan Matson. Fantasy would be ACOTAR, and sci-fi would be The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau.

COFFEE CAKE: A book that you started but never finished

Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia and and Margaret Stohl. I read the first two books and struggled to read them both, but by the time I got to this one, I couldn’t push myself any further.

CARROT CAKE: A book with great writing

I’m going to say any book that involves musicians because the author not only has to write the story of the character but also includes songs by the characters!

The Pancake Book Tag

I saw this tag back on Emer’s blog at A Little Haze Book Blog a while back and thought it was so sweet!

RULES

  • Link back to the original creator, Becky @Blogs-Of-A-Bookaholic.
  • Feel free to use any of the pancake graphics in your post (thank you Becky!), or create your own!
  • Tag some people!

I’m going to have to go with Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi! I know that some people don’t like the writing and repetitiveness, but I think it’s a unique way to show Juliette’s thoughts.

Can I say that both Will and Jace Herondale are both sharp witted.

The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout! This series has so much going on in the course of the story and the love story between Katy and Daemon makes my heart so full!

As She Fades by Abbi Glines. I was thinking about this book for at least a good week after I finished it and had trouble picking up another book because I was constantly thumbing back through the pages reading some of the story.

The Heartbreakers by Ali Novak! I love this book because Stella gets to go on tour with the band as their photographer, and I love the touring life and traveling.

Nathaniel Thorn from Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson! Nathaniel seems like the sorcerer that has it all but as we get to know him better, he has a deep past that he has never really dealt with that has caused him to live the way he does.

Oh good heavens. The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare. I feel like throughout this whole series, secrets were constantly being discovered and changing the game.

All I’m going to say is ACOTAR. You know what the people say ‘I’m looking for my **** in a world of ****.’

I’m going to take a pass because I can’t think of anything at the moment.

If you complete any of these tags, make sure to tag me so I can see your answers!

Happy reading until next time,
