WWW 12/4/19 | Blogmas Day 4

Hi everyone! I hope y’all are doing well! I’m currently about to fall over because I’m tired from clinicals today, but I also need to fix something to eat for dinner and put together my FairyLoot unboxing.

It’s been well over a month since my last WWW so this one might be a little longer than usual, but I’m honestly not sure because I couldn’t tell you how many books I’ve finished since then.

This tag is hosted by Taking on the World of Words where you answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you want to read next?

Feather by Olivia Wildenstein

Feather (Angels of Elysium Book 1) by [Wildenstein, Olivia]

Romeo and Juliet with angels.

It was supposed to be a quick mission. The only thing quick about it was how rapidly I failed.

With only a month left to earn her missing feathers, twenty-year-old Leigh embarks on a trip to Paris to meet her newest project, twenty-five-year-old Jarod Adler, leader of the Parisian Mafia and the worst kind of sinner . . . a Triple.

If Leigh can get Jarod to accomplish a single act of kindness, she stands to win 100 feathers, more than enough to complete her wings and ascend to Elysium, the land of angels.

What she doesn’t count on is Jarod’s dark charm costing her feathers.

She’s dead set on saving him, and he’s dead set on destroying her.

Until he realizes destroying her wings is also destroying her heart.

A heart he longs to hear beat only for him.

A modern ROMEO & JULIET retelling featuring an epic sinner and the angel who’ll stop at nothing to save him. Perfect for fans of dark supernatural romance.

I haven’t quite started this book yet, but I’m participating in a blog tour in a couple of weeks!

Glow of the Fireflies by Lindsey Duga

“Briony never planned to go back to the place she lost everything.

Firefly Valley, nestled deep within the Smoky Mountains, is better kept in her past. It’s been six years since an unexplained fire gave Briony amnesia, her mother disappeared, and her dad moved them away.

But now her grandmother needs a caretaker, and Briony’s dad insists she be the one to help. The moment she returns, she feels a magical connection to the valley, as if it’s a part of her somehow.

And when she meets a hot guy named Alder who claims he was her childhood friend but now mysteriously keeps his distance, Briony starts piecing together her missing past…and discovers her mother didn’t leave to start a new life somewhere. She’s trapped in the hidden world within the valley.

Now, Briony will do whatever it takes to rescue her, even if it means standing up against dangerously powerful gods. But when saving her mother comes with the ultimate sacrifice–Alder’s death–how can she choose?”

Hearts, Strings, and Other Breakable Things by Jacqueline Firkins

In this charming debut about first love and second chances, a young girl gets caught between the boy next door and a playboy. Perfect for fans of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.

Mansfield, Massachusetts is the last place seventeen-year-old Edie Price wants to spend her final summer before college. It’s the home of wealthy suburbanites and prima donnas like Edie’s cousins, who are determined to distract her from her mother’s death with cute boys and Cinderella-style makeovers. Edie has her own plans, and they don’t include a prince charming.

But as Edie dives into schoolwork and applying for college scholarships, she finds herself drawn to two Mansfield boys who start vying for her attention. First there’s Sebastian, Edie’s childhood friend and first love. He’s sweet and smart and . . . already has a girlfriend. Then there’s Henry, the local bad boy and all-around player. He’s totally off limits, even if his kisses are chemically addictive.

Both boys are trouble. Edie can’t help but get caught between them. Someone’s heart is going to break. Now she just has to make sure it isn’t hers.”

The Bookworm Crush by Lisa Roberts Brown

The Bookworm Crush

“Shy bookworm Amy McIntyre is about to compete for the chance to interview her favorite author, who hasn’t spoken to the press in years. The only way to win is to step out of the shadows and into the spotlight, but that level of confidence has never come easy.

The solution? A competition coach. The problem? The best person for the job is the guy she’s secretly crushing on…local surfer celebrity Toff Nichols.

He’s a player. He’s a heartthrob. He makes her forget basic things, like how to breathe. How can she feel any confidence around him?

To her surprise, Toff agrees to help. And he’s an excellent teacher. Amy feels braver―maybe even brave enough to admit her feelings for him. When their late night practices become less about coaching and more about making out, Amy’s newfound confidence wavers.

But does Toff really like her or is this just another lesson?”

Immortal Mayhem by Elena Gray and Kelli McCracken

Immortal Mayhem (Immortal Crown Book 1) by [Gray, Elena, McCracken, Kelli]

What happens when you get invited to a Halloween party full of Supernaturals? Total mayhem.

After breaking up with my mooching boyfriend, I was ready to spend Halloween at home drowning my sorrows in a bottle of wine.

That is, until my sexy neighbor, Trevor, invites me to an exclusive party.

Like a fool, I turn him down, only to have second thoughts after he leaves. Shoving aside my anxiety at attending the party alone, I dig through my closet only to find a skimpy witch costume.

With my goods on display and a bottle of wine for courage, I enter a fantastical world of demons, fairies, mermaids, and vampires.

It all seems so real, but it can’t be. Supernaturals only exist in movies. At least that’s what I keep telling myself. If I’m wrong, I may not leave this party alive.”

Up Next:

I’m not sure. I’ve thought about rereading a few books in December since I’ll be out from school soon, but my tbr is also getting a little out of hand, so I need to try to knock some books off of there.
