Books Most Everyone Has Read But Me: TTT

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! For this week Top Ten Tuesday turns 10 years old and we were going to pick 1 of 2 options: pick a past TTT topic you’ve done and re-do/update it or a past TTT topic you wish you’d done, but didn’t get a chance to do.

So I decided to go way back from when The Broke and the Bookish was the host about Books I Feel As Though Everyone Has Read But Me!

TTT is a weekly meme now hosted by thatartsyreadergirl.

Some of these books may also be found on my post of popular books I haven’t read.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

This is one of those books that everyone seems to talk about no matter what and I still have no solid idea what the book is about! I believe it’s about a group of misfits having to work together to do something (what idk). Kaz Brekker is basically everyone’s book boyfriend while I’m just trying to get past page one in fear that I won’t like the book.

Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare

Okay, fine maybe *everyone* hasn’t read CoG yet, but I feel like enough people has read it that I’m feeling left out. I didn’t get my copies until April/May and haven’t had enough time to dedicate to read a book *that* big. Plus, I’m not sure if my heart can handle seeing Will and Tessa as parents. It see like just a few months ago they were teenagers trying to save the London institute. Now they’re raising children of their own *say as a tear is rolling down my face*.

Basically every V.E./Victoria Schwab Book

I’d just Like to say that I have quite the collection of Schwab’s books in my room but I’ve never read any of them *hides behind a book*. I just feel their are so many people who enjoy her books, and there are so many books about different things that I have no idea which ones are best for me!

The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh

I’ve wanted to read this book forever! I think a good many people have read this because it was the first real vampire book to be sold in a while (at least since I’ve been an active reader) and everyone kind of wanted to get back to something nostalgic.

Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman

Everyone seems to love this book! I think the layout/format of this book is the biggest thing that intimate me because it’s so different from most books! I’ve also heard that the audiobook is amazing because it has a full cast of narrators. I’m not sure the real reason why I’ve never read this book! It feels like another one that everyone talks about but I have no idea what it is other than it takes place in outer space.

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Overall in the book community, this is one that everyone seems to be talking about, but in the JLA FB group, I’m always seeing this book in posts! I had ordered it back in April and haven’t had any down time from reviewing to pick it up.

I’ve heard that this is an adult (maybe NA) fantasy book which is a genre she doesn’t normally write about.

The Rest of the Folk of Air Series by Holly Black

This isn’t a series that I’m upset I haven’t finished because I didn’t really care for The Cruel Prince, but everyone still loves this series. I have the whole series, but feel so ugh about even the thought of picking it back up.

The Poppy War R. F. Kuang

This is a newish adult fantasy book that everyone had seemed to talk about for a while, and I had read about half of it because of an IG book club I’m in, but couldn’t finish it. It was about of my normal genre of books and didn’t hold my attention.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Lani Taylor

This is an older book, but still seems to be one that people talk about from time to time and have their stories about when they read it. It’s a book that I have absolutely NO idea what it’s about.

Serpent and Dove by Shelby Mahurin

I was praying that this was going to be the BOTM to one of the book boxes that I’m subscribed to but it wasn’t. It wasn’t until recently that I bought it and I just haven’t had time to read. I really want to get to it because I heard that it’s an enemies to lovers book with some spicy scenes!

Other Honorable Mentions:

  • Harry Potter
  • Kingdom of Ash
  • The Rest of the Caraval Series
  • Stalking Jack the Ripper
  • A Heart So Fierce and Broken

What are some books that you feel like everyone’s read but you? Let me know below!

Happy reading until next time,

  1. Well, you’re not alone. I still haven’t read Six of Crows, any Schwab book, or Illuminae, either, but they’re on my tbr. I did read Chain of Gold (and loved it). Happy Reading!

  2. You really need to read Six of Crows haha I agree with everyone that it’s amazing ❤ I also haven't read any Cassandra Clare or VE Schwab though so you're not alone there! And I definitely think The Wicked King is WAY better than The Cruel Prince so I recommend giving the rest of the series another go ❤

    • I’ve heard from a lot of people that TWK is better than TCP, so I’ll have to keep that in mind the next time I’m thinking about reading it! I really want to read SoC because I bought a copy of it on my senior trip to NYC, so if nothing else, I’ll read it because the physical book itself has sentiment!

  3. I’ve only read one VE Schwab book (although I did get an ARC for Addie LaRue), and I haven’t read From Blood and Ash, Serpent and Dove, Harry Potter, Stalking Jack the Ripper, or A Heart So Fierce and Broken. But those are all pretty popular, especially among book bloggers!

  4. I haven’t read most of these, I think Serpent & Dove was the only one I did. I think Serpent & Dove was Fairyloot’s book of the month when the book first came out. (I only remember because it was the October pick for B&N’s YA Book Club and one of the gals hadn’t read it yet because she was waiting for her box to show up – it came the day of the book club meeting lol).

  5. I tried to read Six Of Crows not realising that it was set in the same world as her other series so I ended up confused and left it. Daughter Of Smoke And Bone was good but the rest of the series confused me SO MUCH. I spent much of the last book being unable to picture anything.

  6. I have never read Six of Crows either, and I probably won’t. I read the first book in her Grisha trilogy, Shadow and Bone, and was super disappointed. I thought it was predictable, so haven’t really wanted to read any of her other books. I did read Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Lani Taylor but for the life of me cannot remember anything about it. I would definitely recommend listening to the Illuminae series. It was one I listened to during a road trip, and it went by so fast.

  7. I’m actually surprised that I’ve read so many of the books on this list because there are so many hyped books that I feel as though everyone has read but me!

Six of Crows is a primary a heist novel that’s planned and executed by a band of misfits and criminals. Honestly you should give it a try! If you don’t like it so be it, but I think it’s a really great book!
My suggestion for a V E Schwab book to start with is Vicious. It’s my personal favorite of her works and it’s just told so wonderfully and has such morally gray characters that it’s just fantastic!

As for Illuminae, I feel like the unique formatting is part of the appeal! It makes this book a super interesting read, but it isn’t confusing in any way! And I haven’t listened to the audiobook, but I’ve also heard great things about it!

I hope that if you decide to try any of the books out from this list that you enjoy them!

  8. Despite the fact that I’d like to read “Six of Crows,” that’s one I still haven’t read! Someday I’d like to though as it looks fun. 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland last week.
